REMEMBERING VIRGIL ABLOH
The impact that Virgil has had on pop culture can simply not be measured. From fashion, art and music, Virgil has been a part of some of the most influential projects and brands of the past 10 years. His intellectual approach behind his ideas separates him from others and excelled him to the top, inspiring a whole generation of creatives that will follow in some of the paths that he has trailblazer.
You can’t really talk about art and design in todays age without putting Virgil at the top of the list. What stood out about virgil was both his love and respect for the classics, as well as the contemporary.
One of the first notable projects that the public took notice of was the creative collaborations between himself and Kanye West. Art directing the album covers for several of his most iconic albums, the first being My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantacy.
It was Virgil’s idea to commission George Condo to paint several album covers for the project. Putting his work into the public eye like that has propelled the already acclaimed artist into one of the well-known, household names when it comes to painting and fine art.

The ground that
In college, Abloh studied architecture, which was a big driving force as to how he approached his work. He found alot of similarities between the aspect of design in archescture and design in fashion.
One of his notable achievements is the success of his clothing brand Off White, which is currently one of the top designer clothing brands, worn by countless celebrities and artists. Check out the following video of Virgle explain the reasoning being one of hte biggest motifs of the brand is the unique labeling design.

And at the hight of his career in 2018, Virgil was named the artist director of the menswear collection at luxery brand Louie Vuitton. Truly carving a lane of his own, Virgil was a representation of what was possible in terms of success and creativity, He played a part and had his hand in so many different facets of pop culture that his passing really tore the hearts of so many artists, designers, musicians and athletes that he has worked with or helped.
There was no shortage of respect shown for Virgil by everyone. Everyone was so quick to show the world how actually of a great guy he was, his generosity and honor.
