KOEKKOEK INTERVIEW

How did you approach finding the look for each month of the year?

We just went with the personalities and the passions by our talents. We spent some time before the shoot to get to know us a bit better and decided for the styling together.

Did you choose the dogs in order to fit the role, or did you come up with the roles before you chose the dogs?

We just shot what they gave us.

What’s a plus/fun about shooting photos of animals compared to shooting human models?

I enjoy the challenge of communication without words when shooting animals.

If you were to choose, which two dogs from the calendar (including their character) would make the best partners?

Mr. October is my dog. He is called Limo and he is just perfect. I love him.

What was the most difficult set up to shoot?

The reflective set of November was not easy. Also the pool billard scenery was a challenge.

Amok seems to be a reference to the character Chuck from Better Call Saul. Is that a favorite show of yours? Are there any other clever references we didn’t catch?

Yes, he is almost the same as Chuck. You have a good eye!

What month were you born in? Did you choose your favorite picture for that month? If not, what is your favorite photo out of the bunch?

I’m September and I completly forgot to choose a dog that fits my character in the design process. 🙂

If you could shoot a photo of any dog in the world, what would be your ideal dog?

There are so many beautiful dogs. Some day I want to shoot a huge Irish Wolfhound.
