What were some of the first photos you remember taking?
Landscape and Still-life. But I had to dabble in it all before I found my passion.
Can you describe your approach to capturing what it is you’re trying to capture?
I’m still learning that in order for me to enjoy and even go through with most shoots It has to inspire me and if I’m able to fully execute my vision then the end result will be much more desirable.
How do you decide on the themes or subjects you want to explore?
Every concept is something i’ve written down at some point when it’s crossed my mind throughout the years. Often when I am busy doing something completely unrelated.
How does your environment or background play a role in your photography?
We ingest so many images throughout the day; whether we are physically in those spaces, reading about it or viewing it through our devices. It’s important to change up what we listen to, look at, because you cannot grow if you. I make it a habit to focus on what aligns with my spirit.
What’s a particular project or photo series that has been most meaningful to you, and why?
My latest project which has lasted 3 years. It’s almost done so stay tuned.
Can you share a moment or experience during a shoot that has impacted you or changed your perspective?
Every shoot I’m on or direct offers insight. Pay attention to the lessons
What is one of the most important lessons you’ve learned from shooting?
Always have a backup camera for the backup camera.
Biggest challenges you’ve faced in photography?
Creating my own lane, one that is genuine to me that fulfills, nurtures, and satisfies me. It’s important to push your talents to the limits each and every time otherwise it gets boring.
What do you hope viewers take away from your photographs?
My hopes are for the viewer to slow down and allow themselves to be open to a new perspective.
What are some inspirations of yours that stand out?
Outside of Stateside
Words to live by?
Be original in what you do & The last thing someone wants to invest in is inauthenticity.
